For Contract Attorneys
Contract attorney work, on the same managed platform
Document review, overflow litigation support, secondments, diligence and prosecution support — matched to your bar admissions and practice areas, with the engagement, timesheets and payment handled end to end.
This is not expert-witness work
Contract attorney engagements are legal work performed under an engaging firm’s supervision — review, drafting, research and support. They are a separate track from our expert-witness practice, which is about testimony, declarations and technical opinion. If you are a technical expert who may testify, the expert-witness track is the one you want.

The work we place
These are project engagements, billed hourly against a timesheet you submit on the platform — not testimony, and not a permanent role.
Document review
Responsiveness, privilege and issue coding on discovery of any size.Overflow litigation support
Research, drafting and motion support when a matter outgrows the team on it.Secondment
Embedded with a firm or in-house team for a defined stretch of work.Diligence
Transactional and IP diligence — contract review, chain of title, portfolio review.Prosecution support
Drafting and office-action support for patent and trademark prosecution. What we ask for
Credentials, not publications
The expert-witness track asks about degrees, publications and testimony history. This track asks about your licence and your practice.
- Bar admission — every jurisdiction you are admitted in
- Current good standing in each of them
- Practice areas and matter types you have actually worked
- Languages, where a review calls for them
- Availability, and the engagement lengths that work for you
Rates and payment
Hourly, on a timesheet, paid on the same terms
The money mechanics are the ones the platform already runs, and they are profession-neutral: you agree an hourly rate, submit a timesheet against the engagement, and we invoice the firm and pay you.
- An agreed hourly rate per engagement — project work, not an engagement fee
- Timesheets submitted and approved on the platform
- We invoice the engaging firm; you are paid on our standard terms
- NDAs, engagement letters and onboarding handled for you
Conflicts
A different conflicts question
For an expert witness we clear prior engagements and opposing-party ties. For a contract attorney the question is broader and firm-shaped: current and former firms, matters you have touched, and parties adverse to them. We ask before an engagement is offered, not after — the same rule as the expert track, applied to a different set of facts.
Contract Attorney FAQ
Questions from prospective contract attorneys
Is this expert-witness work?
No. Contract attorney engagements are legal work under an engaging firm’s supervision. Testimony, declarations and technical opinion work sit on our expert-witness track, which has its own board and its own funnel.
Which bar admissions do you need?
Tell us every jurisdiction you are admitted in and your standing in each. Matters differ: some need a specific state, some only need an attorney in good standing somewhere, and remote review often has a wider range.
How is it paid?
An agreed hourly rate for the engagement. You submit a timesheet on the platform, we invoice the engaging firm, and you are paid on our standard terms — the same mechanics our expert engagements run on.
Do you handle the conflicts check?
We run it before an engagement is offered, covering your current and former firms and the matters you have touched. You will be asked to confirm it — a conflicts check is only as good as what it is told.
What about malpractice insurance and supervision?
These are set per engagement by the engaging firm, and we will tell you the arrangement for a specific matter before you accept it. We are deliberately not publishing a blanket answer here, because the honest one varies by firm.
Is there a commitment to joining?
No. Joining puts you in the pool. We contact you when a matter matches your admissions and practice areas, and you decide whether to take it.
Join the contract attorney pool
Share your admissions and practice areas once. We reach out when a matter matches — no commitment, and you decide every time.
